Sandra Foster turned a Catskills hunting cabin into the romantic Victorian cottage she had always wanted, using vintage columns, flooring and wavy glass windows, and doing the carpentry herself.

After waking up completely late this morning, a strange feeling of complete nothingness filled my mind. Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly, and that my friends is just what happened. Recently I’ve been working on a job application for the Chicago Tribune and as I wrote my letter the words fit disbelievingly perfectly. It was like warm butter on toast, or just the perfect amount of creme to a cup of coffee. The universe is slowly moving in my favor this month, hopefully this lasts.

This image was taken in winter time in a arid area of the Canadian Rockies. Temperatures where below -30 degrees Celsius yet because there was no snow fall the surface of the lake was uncovered allowing me to see and capture the bubbles (gas release from lake bed) that were trapped in the frozen waters.
